While the first ever TLC match between Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boyz, and The Dudley Boyz is held up as one of the most innovative matches in WWE history, the sequel at the following WrestleMania arguably features a more outrageous collection of bumps. This match is something of a clinic in crazy spots, so narrowing it down to just one is difficult. Jeff Hardy's high-risk swanton bomb to the outside deserves a mention for his insanely narrow landing area, but one other sequence in the bout required even more perfect timing and execution. As the match neared its conclusion, Jeff found himself almost within possession of the Tag Team titles. Unfortunately for him the ladder fell away, leaving the rainbow-haired warrior swinging from a single belt above the centre of the ring. In a move which would come to be replayed on countless WWE highlights packages, Edge quickly scaled a nearby turnbuckle, waited for Hardy to rotate in his direction, and pounced with an unbelievable mid-air spear. The timing needed to pull off the move to even half-perfection is incredible, so the fact that it went off without a hitch is a testament to the Canadian's skill. Edge would later reveal that he almost concussed himself upon landing, effectively turning the move into the most extreme DDT ever, but the risk would prove to be worth it. Having proven his ability to a huge audience, he had paved the way for the rest of his career. A King Of The Ring victory shortly followed, leading to a steady push up the card for the future Rated R Superstar.
