"Dumb" things aren't always strictly awful, y'know. For example, Goldust doing everything he could think of to nail down Booker T as a friend and tag-team partner in 2002. Skits starring the pair were ridiculous, but they were also really entertaining and a reminder that not everything needs to be super-serious on WWE TV.

Besides, the way Booker and Goldust's relationship evolved was heartwarming.

Book couldn't stomach his would-be partner at first. Goldust consistently clowned someone who'd been a multi-time World Champion, and that was too much for the ex-WCW man to tolerate. Then, something wonderful happened: Booker started to see that his golden chum had a heart of...gold. That spirit shattered the ice between them.

Working opposite Goldust also enabled Book to show off his range as a performer. That'd help endear him to WWE writers, and showed his reliability to Vince McMahon too. Was the union OTT? Absolutely, but it was slick and charming from the off. It also helped Booker's career progress.
