10 Dumbest Decisions Made By Seemingly Intelligent Wrestlers
6. AJ Styles Keeps Getting Low-Blowed
AJ Styles has continually showcased a cunning and a wily streak during his run as one of WWE's top stars.
Whether he's tricking John Cena into believing he isn't in cahoots with The Club or being two-steps ahead of an RKO courtesy of Randy Orton, Styles definitely ranks as one of the wiser of his contemporaries.
Yet, even he provides us with the odd moment (or ten) when you have to question how someone could possibly be so stupid.
The incidents in question happened during Shinsuke Nakamura's feud with the then-WWE Champion from WrestleMania 34 onwards.
An understandably p*ssed off Nakamura - fresh off of a loss at the event - opted to pulverise the 'Phenomenal' one's nether regions in a post-'Mania match exchange.
That moment came out of nowhere, so Styles definitely had no chance of predicting what would come to pass on that fateful night. Then Nakamura did it again... and again... and you get the idea.
For weeks Nakamura repeatedly targeted Styles b*ll*cks, yet Styles fell victim to the attack every single time. The only moment Styles seemed to finally get the upper-hand on the ball-shotting Nak involved Styles catching 'The Artist' with his own d*ck kick, only to be caught himself at the exact same moment at Backlash.
It really was stupidity of the highest order and eventually the low blows caught up to Styles when he lost his WWE title to Daniel Bryan with the same fatal shot.
At least Bryan was intelligent enough to know that Styles had no answer to the underhanded tactic.
