10 Forgotten Classics Of WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era
1. Kurt Angle Vs. The Undertaker - No Way Out 2006
After failing to capture the WWE Championship at New Year's Revolution, Kurt Angle shocked the world when he switched from Raw to SmackDown just days later. Making his SmackDown return as a surprise entrant in the World Heavyweight Championship Battle Royal, Angle would mark his homecoming by winning the 'Big Gold Belt' once again.
Retaining the title against Mark Henry at the Rumble that same month, Angle was immediately challenged by The Undertaker in the post-match fallout. Rumour has it that 'Taker had even pitched for Angle to be the one to end 'The Streak' at WrestleMania that very year. While that never happened, fans got the next best thing and the two legendary performers squared off for the World Heavyweight Title at No Way Out.
Despite the match coming at a time when Kurt Angle was, by his own admission, not in a great place physically or mentally, his performance that night was off the charts. Meanwhile, The Undertaker also performed at a level that fans hadn't seen in years and the match ended up surpassing anything at WrestleMania 22.
With drama, action and a brilliant finish, the two brought out the best in each other and the match was certainly WrestleMania calibre. The only gripe is that it wasn't at WrestleMania itself.
