When it comes to great storytelling, few are better than 'The Heartbreak Kid'. That fact is clearly evident in this forgotten gem from the Ruthless Aggression archives, as 'HB-Shizzle' took on one of the biggest wasted talents of the entire era, Mr Ken Kennedy.

With Mr Kennedy on the rise in the WWE - at the time at least - he was fresh opposition for HBK, who had seemingly faced off with everyone of note. Uncharacteristically for Michaels, the bout took place in the middle of the show. However, this only made the match even better, as it surpassed all expectation for a mid-card match.

The two men constructed an old-school match that had Michaels' fingerprints all over it from the get-go. Slowly built, with reasoning and logical storytelling, the match culminated in a truly unique finish that has yet to be duplicated in WWE since.

The younger, feistier, yet less experienced Kennedy came off as the aggressor in the early going. Bringing the fight to Michaels, Kennedy had something to prove and was hell-bent on leaving with the scalp of an icon. Nevertheless, HBK proved just why they call him 'The Showstopper' and wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Brilliant storytelling from two of most exciting performers of the time.
