For seven months, WWE audiences had been fed many glimpses of Lesnar as a superhuman muscleman, but this Cell match was the first real look at Lesnar as a killing machine composed into human flesh. Once they were unconstrained by silly story elements ("Brock touched 'Taker's wife!" "Undertaker's sleeping with a D-list actress!"), the two heavyweights delivered an epic.

If you've never seen the match, know that Undertaker bleeds like few others in WWE history have, perhaps topped only by Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day 2004. In one spot, Lesnar barely avoids being pinned, and an exhausted Undertaker rolls off of him, dripping blood into Lesnar's open mouth like a human syrup bottle. It's what a Cell match should be: a fight to the near-death, minus the cutesy and pretentious BS.
