10 Infamous Wrestling Matches That Took Place Outside The Ring

5. Big Show Vs. Mankind - Boiler Room Brawl (Backlash '99)

Speaking of Big Show, the former WCW Giant was no stranger to matches with oddball stipulations.

After all, the man is billed as 7'4" and weighing over 500 lbs and would realistically destroy most other men that would step into the squared circle for a regular match with him. Sometimes, Show's opponents needed to take the match outside the ring to try and gain some sort of advantage.

Mankind used this strategy when he wrestled Show in the second ever Boiler Room Brawl match at Backlash 1999.

By this time, the first Boiler Room Brawl had become a distant memory to most. Foley, who specifically refused to use and was offended at the suggested usage of "props" during his 1996 Boiler Room Brawl, had become much more open to the idea come April of '99. His body had already started to break down and he knew he had little time inside the ring left. Shortcuts were welcomed.

While The Hardcore Legend would defeat The Big Nasty Bastard in this match, it was far less memorable than his first encounter inside a boiler room with The Undertaker, even if it was similarly chaotic.
