10 Most Overrated Wrestlers On PWI's Top 500 Wrestlers Of 2015
4. Daniel Bryan - #14
Daniel Bryan enjoyed the most important moment of his career in 2014, capturing the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 30, defeating Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista along the way. Despite seeing much of his year hampered by injuries and underwhelming feuds, his position at the top of the PWI 500 was still justifiable given the monumental nature of his triumph - and the considerable popularity he gained during his ascent. However, it wouldn't have been a crime to drop Bryan lower - far lower - than #14 for the 2015 edition of the list. His first PPV appearance of the past 12 months came at the Royal Rumble - where he managed just one elimination - before his early removal from the match caused the Philadelphia crowd to revolt, raining boos and jeers down on eventual winner Roman Reigns. He then lost to Roman Reigns at Fastlane (something of a forced passing-of-the-torch moment in hindsight), before being made to look weak in the build to WrestleMania 31, losing twice to Dolph Ziggler in the space of a week. His Intercontinental Championship reign at 'Mania seemed to signal a resurgence, but Bryan once again fell victim to injury problems, and has remained inactive since April. Overall, his year has consisted of an underwhelming return for injury, a very brief Intercontinental title reign, and an unfortunate return to the sidelines - not a strong case for his high PWI ranking by any stretch of the imagination.
