9. The Big Show Gets Extreme

Kurt Angle ECW

ECW's 2006 relaunch was given very few weapons to allow it to flourish, but an inclusion of a dangerous giant in a hardcore environment actually appeared promising.

Furthermore, the revelation of his defection from WWE was kept until he could strike a killer blow on his former comrades.

Taking place in an 'ECW vs WWE' battle royal, new extreme recruit Kurt Angle rallied his Tuesday night troops whilst The Big Show galvanised the mix of Raw and Smackdown talent to ensure victory.

The star-laden contest saw Angle carry the load for his crew against the stronger WWE division, but after eliminating Edge from the fray late on, he was dumped out by Randy Orton as an exhausted Show also remained in the match.

The two briefly celebrated their win, before Big Show tore open his WWE Raw t-shirt to reveal ECW initials underneath.

The flabbergasted Orton was too shocked to act first, taking a chokeslam from the 'World's Largest Athlete' before getting hurled over the top to give Paul Heyman's crew the battle royal victory.

Surprised himself at what had transpired, an initially-trepidatious Angle returned to celebrate with his new ally in the post-match.
