The extent to which the lawsuit brought against WWE in the mid-90s really changed the company's approach to wellness might be disputed, since the matter was still being hotly debated a decade later after the Chris Benoit debacle.

In economic terms, though, it did have a big impact, as the hefty legal fees the company had to bear were in part responsible for the onset of severe financially difficulties - which ultimately gave WCW a big leg-up in its ambition to become America's number one wrestling promotion (both in terms of salaries and placing fewer constraints on beefy big guys).

It also helped raise general public awareness of alleged steroid abuse in the industry, and has seen authorities demand more transparency from WWE (even if it has managed to brush everything under the carpet pretty neatly in the time since, Vince's bizarre on-air sermon notwithstanding).
