9. Big E Ultimately Costing New Day

This kinda has to happen.

New Day’s heel turn late last year revolved around Big E, but he’s barely around so some of the stuff they’ve done has gone ice cold. Now, seeing as Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have won some belts from The War Raiders, attentions will turn to exactly when their old stablemate will cost them the gold. Literally everybody will be expecting to see that at some point, and it could be massive if handled properly.

Woods and Kingston need to have some banger matches against the rest of the division, then E must cost them to get something going there. Let's be frank about something straight up: Whether Big E is capable of ever wrestling again or not, he needs some kind of revenge for what happened back on the 2 December 2024 edition of flagship show Raw.

That was too heart-wrenching a moment to be frittered away or passed off as something WWE can't capitalise on. No, E might not be capable of taking bumps or even delivering his 'Big Ending' finish, but he can hook a leg or distract a referee long enough to cost New Day their titles at SummerSlam or on another bumper PLE like that.

There'd also be value in having Xavier and Kofi mentally manipulate their old buddy to try and favour them again. Empty apologies once they realise he'll be special guest ref for a huge match; that sort of thing. Then, BANG! E sticks it to his former friends for leaving him when he needed them most.
