10 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 41

4. John Cena Appearing More Often

It'd take a brave fan to stand up and say, 'I really liked the build towards John Cena challenging Cody Rhodes'. On the whole, it's fair to say most fans were disappointed by the TV hype following Cena's shock heel turn at Elimination Chamber in early-March. The Rock was totally posted missing from all of it (more on that in a bit), and the so-called 'Final Boss' didn't even show face in Las Vegas either.

Personally, without doing the math, this writer is unsure exactly how many dates Cena has left on his retirement tour, but he does have to show up a bit more than he has done on episodes of Raw and SmackDown if he's gonna carry the WWE Title for even a short while. There's no call for an absentee part time champion after years of that under Roman Reigns, put it that way.

Cena, Trips and everyone in charge of putting this stuff together has an obligation to the fanbase now. Rightly or wrongly, an awful lot of people were sour on the final month before 'Mania, and that cannot be allowed to happen again. Cody was a weekly sort of champ who very-much repped WWE full time, and JC will have to up his workload before calling it a career if he wants this title reign to mean anything.

Of course, there's another swerve that could catch everybody out. What if The Rock does return shortly and reveals that this was all part of a masterplan designed to screw Cody and the fans who still cheer for John over...?
