10 No-Win WWE Situations
4. Roman In The WrestleMania Main Event
For a fourth time in as many years, WWE booked itself into a no-win situation involving Roman Reigns and the headline match at WrestleMania. At this point, it's beginning to feel like they're doing it deliberately.
The first time round, in 2015, they actually found a pretty clever get out. Instead of choosing between a defeat for The Big Dog and sending the fans home unhappy, they had Seth Rollins crash the party, cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at the very last second.
A year later, however, it was a straight 50/50 choice. They could either have Triple H retain, undoing the mega-push Roman had received over recent months, or give him the title and, in effect, fan the flames of the audience's animosity. They chose the latter.
In 2017, the story was a familiar one - this time the option being having a post-Streak Undertaker conquer the new face of the company, or forcing him to soak up all of the bad feeling that goes with beating the Deadman at WrestleMania - like a big, expensive sponge.
This year, he needed one to mop up all that blood, as Brock Lesnar in theory sent fans home happy - except they'd decided in advance to boo the match vociferously. The past three years had put WWE in an unwinnable scenario, despite the unexpected outcome.
