7. EC3 Being A Homegrown Success For TNA

The EC3 character has been a tremendous home-grown success in TNA, and by that I mean that you didn’t have name value in the WWE and you’re something new and someone fresh – what do you think has been the secret of that success?

Ha ha, that’s a great question! Just let me have a moment to think….I’ve always had the belief in myself that I could get this opportunity. It was just a matter of getting it. Being in the WWE previously, I learned from being in developmental, from the trainers and coaches – some great, some the scum of the earth - I learned from being around guys who were on top, who helped me and were very giving with their knowledge. I would soak up that knowledge in any sort of scenario where you’ve got the chance to talk to them about anything that relates to the business.

That’s a learning experience that I was very fortunate to have and that’s been a secret to my success as well. But mostly, it’s being able to have faith in what I do, and who I am. Getting over the initial hump of a little self-doubt because of what happened in the WWE, but as soon as you realise who you are, and that what you’re doing can work, then you’re making it work and working as hard as possible. There’s a lot riding on me, that TNA’s given me this opportunity, so I’ve taken that to heart and I know that I have to be the hardest working guy there to be deserving of the opportunity.
