Roman Reigns may be fresh off scoring the second biggest win of his year (and career), but his sterling effort putting Braun Strowman over was commendable in the extreme for a performer who still has his own tale to re-tell at the top of the card.

Though fundamentally not ready to take over top spot during his 2016 tenure with the title, Roman was nonetheless crowned WWE Champion at WrestleMania 32 and given a feud with the superlative AJ Styles propel him in the eyes of workrate fanatics and the WWE proletariat alike.

A Wellness Policy violation sent his perception amongst all audiences through the floor, and the probable WrestleMania 34 ascension will mark nearly two full years to complete his recovery.

The good days are coming again for Reigns, that much is assured, but Braun needs them right now. Yet another win over 'The Big Dog' to once again position himself as his better would also line up for a title shot when Roman inevitably dethrones a Brock Lesnar Strowman was unable to overcome.
