Rener Gracie has said that CM Punk has an ability to absorb knowledge unlike any other student he's ever trained with.

Now, consider for a moment that Gracie is talking strictly about Jiu-jitsu. Now consider that this ability may carry over to other disciplines. We know Punk has already had success in pro wrestling, so his overall learning ability may just be that good. If he picks up a decent striking and takedown defence quick, he's going to give fighters fits in the UFC. Top level guys? No, probably not, at least not any time soon, but as has been mentioned already, Punk isn't about to be thrown to the wolves.
