10 Reasons Why You Need To Respect Kevin Nash
4. The Bret Hart Matches
A sublime fit against one another, the quartet of matches Diesel had with Bret 'Hitman' Hart in 1994, 1995 & 1996 remain four of Kevin Nash's best ever Pay-Per-View offerings.
Clashing first at June 1994's King of the Ring, the two followed a 'David and Goliath' formula, with the much smaller 'Hitman' suffering extensive punishment to his back in preparation for 'Big Daddy Cool's devastating Jackknife Powerbomb.
Only a Jim Neidhart attack would save a gutsy Bret on that night, but multiple run-ins would end their gripping 1995 Royal Rumble rematch after a meaner Bret tactically dismantled Diesel's legs, having remembered all he'd endured against 'Big D' in their first clash.
Parting until November, Survivor Series hosted a No Disqualification/No Count Out World Title classic between the two, definitively won by Bret after surviving an enormous table bump to roll up a sympathetic Diesel in a split-second moment of weakness from the Champion.
Triggering Diesel's sudden heel turn, the conclusion of that match built to one last WWE battle between the two at February 1996's In Your House.
Taking place inside a steel cage, having learned from his mistakes in all their matches, Diesel would reassert his physical dominance throughout, until The Undertaker interfered and allowed Bret to escape the structure for the final victory.
