5. The Go-Home RAW Is Bigger Than The Go-Home SmackDown
Remember the final episode of RAW before the 2015 Royal Rumble? It wasnt that good, but at least the show ended on a somewhat symbolic note, with a lot of Superstars brawling in the ring, symbolizing the chaotic nature of the Rumble match. What was the closing moment on that weeks SmackDown? Kane vs. Daniel BryanAGAIN! WWEs top brass have stopped thinking of SmackDown as an equal to RAW, and therefore all of the most important things need to happen on RAW, instead of the most significant moments and storyline progressions being split evenly between both shows. It wouldve made more sense for the last TV show before the Royal Rumble PPV to showcase something unique to keep convincing fans to watch the event, instead of showcasing repetitive matches and the exact same promos and hype videos that were seen on RAW. If SmackDown is to ever become more relevant, then the last episode before a PPV needs to be bigger than normal. It needs to have some kind of special hook that not only makes the show itself more interesting, but also adds an incentive to watch the upcoming PPV. Because if the best stuff happens on the last RAW before a PPV, then SmackDown is completely useless in promoting other WWE events.
