10 Reasons WWE’s WrestleMania 31 Is Already Doomed
4. The Streak Is Dead
The Undertaker made his WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania VII when he defeated Jimmy Superfly Snuka in just over four minutes. From there, he went on a twenty one match winning streak that included Shawn Michaels twice, Triple H three times, Ric Flair, Batista, Randy Orton, Edge, Kevin Nash and more besides. It had got to the point where The Streak was one of the most marketable aspects of WrestleMania, sometimes more than the WWE Championship match. But that all ended this year. At WrestleMania XXX, Brock Lesnar conquered The Undertakers undefeated streak in convincing fashion, and changed the wrestling landscape forever. It reinvigorated Lesnars career tenfold, and reminded fans what a legitimate killer he could be, but in doing so, WWE traded in one of their most consistent stories and one of the biggest WrestleMania attractions. Its still up in the air if The Undertaker will even wrestle at this years WrestleMania. He hasnt confirmed or denied any retirement rumours, so he could still be planning a return to the ring. The Undertakers undefeated streak at WrestleMania used to be his reason to keep wrestling, but without it, have we seen the last of the Deadman? And will people watch a WrestleMania that doesnt feature The Undertaker?
