10 Reasons WWE’s WrestleMania 31 Is Already Doomed

5. Brock Lesnar's Limited Contract

Brock Lesnar€™s part-time contract has always been an obstacle for WWE. For the first few years of his return, it felt like they never fully commited with anything for him outside of spectacle matches because they knew he wouldn€™t be around for many of the shows around those events. Now, the pendulum has swung in the other direction and they€™ve not only had Brock Lesnar break The Undertaker€™s undefeated streak at WrestleMania, but he defeated John Cena in the most physically dominant WWE World Heavyweight Championship match in history. This seemed like an exciting new era at the time, but Brock Lesnar hasn€™t been seen since Night of Champions, he wasn€™t at Hell in a Cell and he won€™t be at Survivor Series either. The WWE seems like a strange place without their champion, and Lesnar obviously has no intention of working more dates than he currently does. Lesnar€™s matches at WrestleMania don€™t often require him to be there all the time to promote, but now he€™s the champion things are different. Also, UFC president Dana White has recently expressed interest in having Brock Lesnar back in his promotion.
€œIt€™s pretty amazing what he did and accomplished here while having diverticulitis ... It would be interesting to see a 100 percent-healthy Brock Lesnar compete.€
That, coupled with Jim Ross€™ comments that Lesnar€™s contract expires soon and multiple high-profile UFC fighters like Shane Carwin, Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem recently calling the former UFC Champion out, the fiercely competitive Lesnar might not be able to resist stepping back into the Octagon. That will potentially undermine the worth of Mania 31 where fans will all know he's losing.
