10 Royal Rumble 2017 Entrants Who Won’t Enter 2018's

2. Goldberg

When he wasn't falling over trying to kick Rusev, or letting his son strut around topless on live television, Bill Goldberg was cramming a Universal Title win, WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar and showdown with The Undertaker into 2017. That's quite the year, and it couldn't be topped if WWE brought the former WCW man out of retirement again.

Goldberg's 3 minutes and 21 seconds in the 2017 Rumble were longer than his matches with Lesnar at Survivor Series 2016 and Kevin Owens at Fastlane 2017 combined. Let that sink in for a moment, because it's pretty astonishing. In that time, he was booked to eliminate arch nemesis Brock, Luke Harper and Rusev from the Rumble, then had a little confrontation with 'Taker.

That was the ultimate tease. Sure, the match would be horrendous in-ring, but the face-to-face set minds racing over what Jackhammer vs. Tombstone might have been like, when both were in their prime. Nope, Goldberg couldn't better what he achieved in the 2017 Rumble, and he's not part of the equation this year, anyway.
