10 Shocking Backstage Incidents Involving WWE's Creative Team

7. No Funerals

Dan Madigan is an accomplished creative writer, who worked on both the Raw and Smackdown brands from 2004. He's also credited as the writer for WWE's 'See No Evil' movie, which was considered one of WWE's better Hollywood efforts. Unfortunately, Madigan was also the man who came up with the deplorable Kane / Lita / Snitsky miscarriage angle. Anyway, after leaving WWE, Madigan painted WWE in a very dim light. He revealed that he was on a European tour when he got a double whammy of bad news. His wife had miscarried his baby and his father in law had died. Understandably, Madigan immediately left the WWE tour and flew back to America. The WWE had allowed this return, but it wasn't long before Stephane McMahon got a bit heated over it and demanded Madigan come back to work. The timing of this was brutal - Madigan was stood over his father in law's grave at the funeral. His phone suddenly went off and it was Stephanie, she was actually yelling at him down the phone, demanding that he return immediately for a creative meeting about Tough Enough.
