7. Chris Jericho Surprises Scott Hall - Monday Nitro 3/11/97
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIP1eAqluYk One things thats apparant when watching classic WCW from the mid-to-late nineties is how clear the hierarchy is. Theres the main eventers, who have guaranteed contracts and creative clauses. There are mid-carders who often competed for the United States or WCW Television Championships. Then there were the Crusierweights, often seen as the highlight of the weekly Nitro telecast, although they were often the most talented, they were soundly on the bottom of the WCW ladder. Whenever a Crusierweight would clash with a main-eventer, so when Chris Jericho, who had been in WCW just over a year, took on nWo founder Scott Hall in Philadelphia, it seemed like the writing was on the wall for the man formerly known as Lionheart. However, Jericho shocked the world when he reversed Halls Outsider Edge and rolled him up into a small package to get the win, all in under two and a half minutes. Both men have spoke about this memorable match in the years previous. Scott Hall told a story in one of his many shoot interviews that it was his idea for Jericho to win the match, and asked him to come up with the finish. Jericho recalls in one of his books that in order to pull of the finish to the match, he had to teach Hall how to be put in a small package.
