10 Signs CM Punk Is Obsessed With Money

2. Punk Initially Chose To Take His Ball Home

INITIALLY, Punk no-showed for the Raw after the Royal Rumble. Of course, we can't forget that he was eventually suspended for two months and then fired on the day of his wedding to Diva AJ Lee in June. You have to look deeper into the no-show as it is money that allowed Punk's frustration get the better of him. CM was able to walk away because WWE made him rich and afforded him the luxury of taking time off without earning money. He even admits that he was looking more and more at his bank account and realising how little he needed WWE any more as he was so loaded. It is this attitude that shows Punk wasn't in the business for the pure love of it. He paid his dues scrapping his way to the top but once he got there his outlook changed. Cabana tells of how when Punk had two months off he would tell him how he didn't have the slightest urge to get back in the ring. Punk replied: "I love my couch. I rediscovered my love for a great many things." Punk would go on to say he was mad when he was back working when he should have been there to see his beloved Chicago Blackhawks win the cup. "I began to look at my bank account being like, this is f*****g ridiculous I don't need to do this any more, I'll go work at Starbucks." Maybe WWE is better off without a man leading its charge with this outlook on the business.
