10 Terrible WWE Main Events One Tweak Away From Excellence

4. Diesel Vs The British Bulldog (In Your House 4)

Why it's terrible: Displaying the sort of anti-chemistry that exposed Davey Boy Smith as being closer to the luggage than the carrier, Diesel and The British Bulldog worked 'Big Daddy Cool's leg...and worked it some more, and worked it some more, and worked it some more, all for a match they both knew didn't have a finish. That unforgivable act was perhaps out their hands, but the structure of the match (much like Kevin Nash's knee for the Bulldog) never was.

One Tweak: Let them fight!

There was something resembling a blood feud ongoing between the WWE Champion and the newly-turned Camp Cornette member, yet the contest barely spoke to Bulldog's heel turn or the unravelling psyche of Diesel following some frustrating defeats.

Though possibly unworthy of comparison because of just how amazing Bret Hart was, Diesel's two magnificent brawls with Bret in January and Survivor Series as well as a surprisingly enjoyable Lumberjack Match with Sid in July highlighted how much more he could do with the shackles loosened.

This, like far too much of his run, wasn't fuelled by genuine "Diesel Power". Vince McMahon allegedly threw his headset off in disgust after the broadcast went off the air, calling the match "horrible" - he should have been chastising himself.
