Edge's promo work teased that there's more to come, but Bianca Belair's? The new Raw Women's Champion cut a lifeless figure as she stood in the centre of the ring sporting a black eye. This is something WWE has experienced before with the "EST", and you'd think they'd bloody learn their lesson.

Instead of introducing a fresh challenger or having Belair speak about Becky Lynch with venom, the writers scripted Bianca to palm everything off and timidly play the hero. Fans yawned their way through her words, and there was almost a stunned silence when her music played to close the segment.

'That's...that's it?!' was near-audible from the stands.

WWE failed to come through for Belair after she won the SmackDown Women's Title last year, and they better not make that mistake again. Bianca can't continue being a thick-skinned babyface who ignores obvious pitfalls in favour of spinning her hair around and smiling constantly.

Strap yourselves in for a struggle.
