Ultimately, Aleister Black wanted to launch a storyline that'd see him target Vince McMahon for enabling the eye injury that changed his life forever. That wouldn't come close to happening, he says, until after Black had dealt with Murphy, Rollins and Wyatt's alter ego (in that order).

Then, and only then, he'd turn fire on the boss.

It's not hard to envision McMahon shaking his head when this was pitched. The 75 year old hasn't been keen on working angles for years now, and only occasionally pops up on TV every now and then. Still, Aleister must've been buoyed by Vince's head butt moment with Kevin Owens in 2017 - he fancied doing something similar to that.

Black didn't reveal whether or not WWE turned the idea down flat, but he did say that McMahon "loves those that are creative". His idea to blame Vince for the eye deal was a good one, but it didn't happen.
