10 Things We Learned From Aleister Black About His WWE Release

8. Why WWE Used Animation

That angular nightmare wasn't the initial plan anyway.

WWE wanted to use real actors and actresses for those 'Tales Of The Dark Father' vignettes, but their plans were spoiled by the ongoing pandemic. Being honest, the promos wouldn't have been anywhere near as spooky had real men and women been walking around the place living out Black's words.

Anyone who has played the latest Resident Evil game will know that mixing children's book animations with twisted, psychotic horrors is one hell of a way to set the scene. Black didn't go into details about who would've been drafted in to play some of the tortured souls bringing his narrations to life though, sadly.

All he said is that WWE scrapped plans to shoot real people and went the creepy cartoon route. That was directly due to COVID concerns and (presumably) helped them shave a little more off that all-important budget too.
