1. He Wanted Goldberg’s Second Run

Kurt's 2017-2019 run in WWE wasn't the best.

He was inducted into the Hall Of Fame, became Raw GM, revealed he had a kayfabe son in Jason Jordan, teamed with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34 and then retired one year later against Baron Corbin at 'Mania 35. None of it satisfied Angle the way he had hoped a return would.

On 'Broken Skull Sessions', a reflective Kurt told Austin plainly that he wanted the kind of treatment Bill Goldberg was afforded when he launched a comeback in 2016. Angle craved the short World Title reigns and explosive matches, and pointed out that he was little more than a supporting act for Ronda at 'Mania 34.

There was no attempt to pretend his 'Mania 35 retirement was anything other than rubbish either. Angle described Corbin as a "good, talented kid", but admitted he wanted something a little more high profile than a six-minute mid card match.

No kidding.
