10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Mick Foley

2. His Critical Comments On Social Media

Social media is a great thing for a number of reasons. For a celebrity like Mick Foley, it lets him interact with his fans on Twitter and Facebook, both of which are things he uses frequently. This year he got into some trouble due to some of his comments. When Daniel Bryan didn't win or even compete in the Royal Rumble, Foley was upset. He talked about how he would throw a brick through his TV if Bryan didn't win the Rumble. As a way to live up to his promise, he actually destroyed one of the small TVs in his house with a baseball bat and put it on youtube. http://youtu.be/bfZVdR6jgvE Here are tweets from Foley during the Royal Rumble on January 26, 2014: Wait...@WWEDanielBryan isn't even IN the #RoyalRumble? That just kind of sucks." At the end of the show, this is how he expressed himself: "Does @WWE actually hate their own audience? I've never been so disgusted with a PPV." He said even more on Facebook when he mentioned he was sad for the guys that bust their butts night in and night out. When Wade Barrett started doing a Foley-like Cactus Jack elbow drop off the apron to the floor during his match, Foley complained on Facebook and Twitter about how WWE didn't mention his name. It seemed to genuinely upset him because often times the announcers will mention wrestlers from the past. Foley's a 2013 WWE Hall of Famer and one of the most beloved wrestlers ever. It's surprising that WWE wouldn't acknowledge him that way. Part of it could have something to do with the Legends contract we mentioned earlier. Maybe WWE management is mad at him about that, but they're definitely not happy about his comments about the creative direction of the company.
