The man behind the character, Brian James has been very candid about his problems over the years with drugs. Loving the rock star lifestyle that being a top name in the WWF of the 'Attitude' Era afforded him, James couldn't help but dive into a world of narcotics, alcohol and other substances. It's a credit to the man that he's willing to be so open about his troubles. Long before he had reached the heights he did as Road Dogg, there were drugs in Brian's life. Experimenting with marijuana in high school, he then moved on to bigger substances. The former multi-time Tag-Team Champion didn't discriminate, he was simply into drugs. There was a time in his life when his first thought of the day revolved around which drugs he could score. In the squeaky clean, corporate world of WWE today, this kind of thing is better left out of conversation. Nowadays, somebody who openly admits to being messed up on drugs and alcohol would be a major problem for the company. Sponsors would be put off by the revelations, but drugs played a big part in the Road Dogg's life.
