10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 41

8. Rey Fenix Lost

WWE WrestleMania Night 1 Rey Fenix Vikingo

WWE signing Rey Fenix was a huge win.

The former AEW standout brought instant credibility, jaw-dropping athleticism, and a fresh energy to the roster.

Fans were hyped for his WrestleMania debut—until it happened.

Plans were derailed when Rey Mysterio suffered a late injury, so WWE scrambled and inserted Fenix into a comedy-tinged “Lucha Legends Showcase” against El Grande Americano—a masked parody of lucha libre who we all knew was Chad Gable in disguise.

What could’ve been a star-making debut became a bizarre comedy segment. Fenix was pinned clean after a roll-up and a handful of tights, and the crowd was left wondering what they’d just watched.

Fenix deserved a spotlight. Instead, he was a punchline. There's no doubting that WWE wants you to forget that one of the world’s best luchadors lost his debut to a guy parodying him and others on the roster.
