10 Things You Didn't Know About Charlotte Flair
3. She Is In A Grand Slam League Of Her Own
Charlotte Flair’s championship-exploits are borderline comical at this point. Despite being an active competitor for only seven years, Flair has managed to win 11 singles championships. That record becomes even more bloated when only main roster success is taken into account; 10 world titles in less than five years. WWE isn’t great at making championships mean something, and Flair’s tumefied record is one of the biggest pieces of evidence.
But this is WWE’s world and we’re just living in it, so the accomplishments of Charlotte Flair are not to be ignored. She is the only woman to win all of the singles championships available to her, although this is as much to do with timing as anything else. Flair was at the forefront of the evolution from divas to serious competitors, and as such was the last woman to hold the much-maligned Divas Championship. She followed this up by becoming the first holder of the re-introduced WWE Women’s Championship, defeating Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in a genuine classic at WrestleMania 32.
Charlotte has also won singles gold on WWE’s three brands. Flair’s accumulation of championship gold began way back in May 2014, when she defeated Natalya in a tournament final to win the NXT Women’s Championship. She picked up the RAW Women’s Championship in that triple threat match at WM32, although it became brand-exclusive following the 2016 WWE Draft. Flair became the fifth woman to lift the SmackDown Women’s Championship in November 2017, defeating her old nemesis Natalya on an episode of the blue brand. Throw in a Royal Rumble (2020) victory and you’ve got quite the resumé.
