Remember Rodney Mack? No? Well, you can be forgiven, since he was totally nondescript and didn't do anything in the company except for participating in a poor taste race angle. Mack, along with Mark Henry, Jazz and Teddy Long formed a stable of African American wrestlers who claimed they were being held down by 'The Man'. The group wrestled mostly on Heat, although Mack and Henry got a sort of mini-push and scored a few upsets in the summer of '03. One thing Mack, a former Marine, had going for him was that he was a legitimate badass and looked intimidating. This is something The Hurricane found out firsthand backstage at a Knoxville, Tennessee house show on September 13th. Helms was laying out the match, which pitted Mack and Henry against Hurricane and Rosey, when Mack interjected with some ideas of his own. Helms, believing that as the veteran he should have been entrusted to lay the match out, disagreed with Mack's ideas. This lead to an argument which, in turn, lead to Helms challenging Mack to a real fight. Mack accepted and proceeded to kick Helms' head in. Both men were given a stern telling off by management and the match passed without incident. This wasn't the hot-headed Helm's first, or last, backstage scuffle.
