10 Times "Best For Business" WWE Decisions Sucked

3. Cena Vs. Rock II

The Rock John Cena - WrestleMania 29

WrestleMania XXVIII's once-in-a-lifetime main event became a twice-in-a-lifetime main event the following year because WWE liked the look of its gate receipts and pay-per-view buys and figured there was no harm in milking the feud for all it was worth.

It made sense in economic terms, but not in wrestling ones. CM Punk was in the midst of the best WWE Title reign for a generation, one that ought to have been capped off with a deserved appearance in the WrestleMania XXIX main event, where he could easily have stood toe-to-toe with The Rock himself.

At the very least, a triple threat match featuring Punk alongside Cena and 'The Great One' would have been a suitable compromise - but, alas, it didn't have the same marketing potential as the 'Dream', err, 'Rematch'.
