Dwayne Johnson might be known to millions as "that bald actor with the big arms", but he will always be known to wrestling fans as "The Rock".

He adopted the name following the backlash to his original babyface gimmick. Johnson ditched his old "Rocky Maivia" name and become the loud-mouthed, quick-witted jock we know and love today.

The championships and main events soon rolled in and his career outside of a wrestling ring went beyond what anybody could have imagined.

Yes, there's only one "The Rock"... or is there?

Almost a decade before Rocky Maivia first stepped between the ropes, Don Muraco was using the nickname "The Rock" to great effect.

He began using it when he took on "Superstar" Billy Graham as his manager in 1987, even though the announcers would often just refer to him by his old moniker - "The Magnificent Muraco".

Don's time as "The Rock" coincided with the end of his WWF career, but he was still successful in matches like the first Royal Rumble and at events like WrestleMania IV and the very first SummerSlam.

So who knows, maybe if things had gone differently, we could be sat here talking about Steve Austin vs Don Muraco at WrestleMania X7 instead.
