10 Times WWE Let Everyone Down At SummerSlam

7. The Undertaker Vs. The Undertaker (1994)

As far as terrible '90s wrestling angles go, it's hard to beat the fake Undertaker saga.

It came about shortly after Royal Rumble 1994. The real Undertaker was written off television for seven months so he could heal a back injury, but talk of his return started surfacing after WrestleMania X. WWE produced vignettes of people claiming to have seen 'The Deadman' in public, and Ted DiBiase reintroduced the character to the audience, claiming he'd brought 'Taker back from the dead.

This 'Underfaker' was played not by Mark Calaway, but Brian Lee. Paul Bearer eventually brought the real Undertaker back into the fold, and the two were slated to face each other at SummerSlam 1994, resulting in one of the worst matches in the event's history.

The crowd were the first problem. Absolutely nobody bought into the fake Undertaker angle, and who could blame them? The storyline was complete and utter nonsense, and the match was a plodder, with Lee struggling to land a single blow on Calaway. The audience were fortunately put out of their misery following a series of Tombstone Piledrivers after nine minutes, and the angle was quickly abandoned.
