While he would ultimately very much attempt to get himself fired from the biggest wrestling organisation in the world in the future, that certainly wasn't the plan back when Daniel Bryan appeared on WWE Raw alongside the Nexus in June 2010.

Heading into the debut of that rebellious faction on the main roster, all of the lads involved in the eventual invasion of the red brand were told to create havoc and make an impact during their first night on Raw as the black and yellow menaces, according to ring announcer Justin Roberts (via Cult of Whatever).

And that's exactly what Bryan did.

However, his decision to choke the life out of Roberts with his own tie didn't go down very well with sponsors.

So, despite Vince McMahon and everyone in the back reportedly being happy about the way the angle went down, the future World Champion was shockingly sacked a few days later due to his committed actions being classed as "too violent" for WWE TV.

Bryan also spat on John Cena during the Nexus attack before quickly apologising for both that and the infamous choking in the aftermath. But the fact he was ultimately booted out of the company for a spell after simply committing to some not exactly specific WWE orders seemed pretty ridiculous then and still does over a decade later.
