10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (23 Feb)

3. Cody, Get The Tables!

The Tables Match between Jake Something and Deaner was very much a standard Tables Match in the sense that the majority of the bout was spent setting the table up in various different scenarios. Regardless, it was a decent contest overall.

It's the kind of bout both where both men are truly exceptional because, simply put, they can just knock the f*ck out of each other. Deaner was particularly on form here, using the unique setups created by his cousin to take Something off his feet. That drop toe hold into the corner table was nasty.

For what it's worth, it's key to note that this wasn't a downright fight, as Jake managed to pull out some decent technical offence. His Michinoku Driver was executed perfectly, but he then backrolled to roll Deaner back to his feet. Little nuances like this add far more depth to a match.

A gorgeous Black Hole Slam dropped Deaner through a table as Jake picked up his second consecutive win over the Violent By Design member. It's not a good look for Deaner, but realistically, it's Jake who needed the win for now. Deaner can go do whatever Eric Young has in mind; Jake Something is still technically a new star under this name.
