10 Ways WWE Tried To Rewrite Wrestling History

8. Randy Savage

Randy Savage Stephanie Mcmahon WWE haven't fully erased Randy Savage's matches and persona from their history - but they have blacked his legacy out from being celebrated. Savage was a great worker and character. Along with Hulk Hogan and the Legion of Doom, Savage was one of the most distinctive performers of the 80's WWF Cartoon era. Many people were drawn in just based off of Savage's appeal. In 2013 he should be remembered with reverence and celebration as one of the backs the WWE was built upon. But he isn't. WWE do mention the flamboyant act, and there has been a DVD (but no documentary) - in general though he is not treated in a spotlight way in the manner of other pillars of the WWF such as Austin, Rock, Undertaker and Hogan. There has been no Hall of Fame spot for Savage, despite his brother now saying the WWE can do it with his blessing if they wish. The reason the WWE hasn't acknowledged Savage's legacy is rumoured to be an inappropriate relationship with Stephanie McMahon. The story has done the rounds for 15 years now that 40 year old Randy got with 17 year old Stephanie - hence Vince McMahon has put a halt on WWE history celebrating Randy Savage's legacy. Prominent industry inside wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has stated he believes this to be true.
