10 WCW Fates Worse Than Death

4. Getting Humped By The Yeti

Spoiler alert: WCW misunderstood what a yeti was supposed to be. Either that or they just didn't think 'The Mummy' sounded as cool.

The Yeti debuted on the 23 October 1995 episode of Nitro. He was revealed as the silly Dungeon Of Doom’s secret weapon in the fight against Hulkamania. Then, he/it would strike. Yeti attacked Hulk Hogan during his match vs. The Giant at Halloween Havoc. Again, the question must be asked: Had WCW bosses ever seen a yeti depicted anywhere?

Their “Yeti” was more like a big mummy. He was covered head to toe in bandages. The gimmick was played by future Raven’s Flock member Reese, and it was horrible. Just horrible. At one point, it looked like Giant and Yeti were double humping Hogan from both sides during a World Title match. Some decorum wouldn't go amiss, gentlemen. Please restrain yourselves, at least until fans watching this back get some sick bags ready.

Of course, Yeti and Giant were supposed to be giving Hulk a "double bearhug", but that certainly wasn't what it looked like. Score one for those who had 'dry humping' on their 1995 WCW pay-per-view bingo cards. You could tick that one off next to the equally as nonsensical, '60-man, 3 ring Battle Royal' come World War 3.

This was far from Hulk's finest hour, and it was the true nadir of his earliest days in WCW. Stick his whole feud with the Dungeon under that category, to be fair. His shocking heel turn and the nWo ascent couldn't come soon enough for Hogan and company. He went from being humped by a so-called "Yeti" to exuding Hollywood cool.
