10 WCW Tag Teams You Definitely Won’t Remember
1. The Pit Crew
Start your engines and bask in the glory of WCW's very own Bob 'Sparky Plugg' Holly rip off.
Chad Fortune has become known as the first wrestler to ever pin Bill Goldberg. Before that, he was part of a naff race car driving gimmick team with Dale Torborg. Together, the pair were known as 'The Pit Crew', and they donned the most garish WCW overalls you're ever likely to see (one wonders if they ever sold those at merch stands).
It's almost impossible to find any records of matches Fortune and Torborg worked together, but they definitely teamed up in late-1997. This was actually the second overlooked team Chad had been part of - he and Erik Watts were 'Tekno Team 2000' in the WWF between 1995-1996.
Torborg would later go on to play the 'KISS Demon' in 1999-2000 too, so this duo have some serious history with sh*t gimmicks. Also, to top it all off, Fortune's debut in WCW was a loss to Joey Maggs, otherwise known as one of The Creatures from Halloween Havoc 1991.
What a life.
