10 Worst Main Events In WrestleMania History
6. Roman Reigns Vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania XXXIII)
Roman Reigns headlined WrestleMania for the third consecutive year in 2017, squaring off against The Undertaker in a dream match of sorts that should have finally and unequivocally solidified The Big Dog as the face of WWE and the leader of the locker room.
The match, set up at Royal Rumble when Reigns eliminated The Phenom and proclaimed WWE his yard now, was the main event of WrestleMania 33 and one of the night's most anticipated bouts. Unfortunately, The Deadman's health was not nearly what it needed to be in order to ensure a quality match.
Hobbled from the get-go, he was in noticeable pain and more than once proved unable to match the intensity or speed of his younger opponent. It was difficult to watch. Sad even. This iconic Superstar, this larger-than-life figure, was reduced to a frail and broken old man putting up his final fight on the stage he helped define.
Reigns won the match, dealing Undertaker his second loss at The Showcase of the Immortals, but one could not help but feel heartbroken over the miserable quality of the one-sided beatdown. What should have been a star-making bout was, instead, the end of an era as we know it.
Even if Undertaker does dust off the boots for another WrestleMania showdown with John Cena in 2018.
