10 Worst WCW Gimmicks Ever

7. The KISS Demon

In yet another stroke of Eric Bischoff's genius, WCW signed a very expensive contract with the rock band KISS to create a wrestler based on the band's signature look. The Demon was supposed to represent Gene Simmons and, eventually, a stable of wrestlers would be created to represent all of the band members. KISS also performed a concert live on Nitro (one of the lowest-rated segments in the show's history) and had it guaranteed that the KISS Demon would participate in at least one main event match. Well, to absolutely no one's shock, the Demon was a complete and total failure. Besides the fact that this was 1999 and not 1979, no one cared about a wrestler based on a classic rock band. Bischoff lost his booker position soon after the character debuted and the new creative team proceeded to job out the Demon, making him into an opening match joke. However, there was still the little problem of the main event match that was written into WCW's contract with KISS. In order to get around that, WCW booked the Demon against the Wall at Superbrawl 2000 in a "Special Main Event match". Never mind the fact that the match was 4th on the show or that the Demon jobbed to the Wall...this was a main event! It almost makes you wish that KISS sued them.
