10 Worst WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2010s

6. Triple H (January-April 2016)

When Roman Reigns beat Sheamus on Raw to win his second WWE Championship, he actually got cheered.

WWE decided to capitalise on this momentum and book him in a rivalry with their biggest star - a 46-year-old semi-retired businessman.

Triple H entered the 2016 Royal Rumble as the surprise final entrant. Not only did he win his second Rumble but, as per the stipulation of the match, he left Orlando's Amway Centre as WWE Champion. The stage was set for WrestleMania 32. Trips would put the belt up against Reigns in a singles match, but to get there, he had to go through Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose on the road to Texas.

These defences were fine - the one against Ambrose at Roadblock was very strong - but none of them matter. We all knew where things were heading, but we didn't know just how bad it would be.

The main event of Mania 32 was god awful. We're talking proper bottom of the barrel stuff; slow; formulaic; and completely heatless. Reigns slayed The Game to reclaim his title to waves of boos. Triple H's final world championship reign had ended with a whimper.
