10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2005
6. McMahon Rips JR’s Colon Surgery
Iconic announcer Jim Ross hasn't had his health troubles to seek over the years, but he's always maintained dignity and passionately discussed how much support from wrestling fans means to him. That's been true whether he's been battling Bell's Palsy, fighting skin cancer or dealing with colon cancer. People have been gracious and loving towards JR.
Then, there was Vince McMahon on the 24 October 2005 episode of Raw.
Ross was recuperating at home following colon surgery when he got word that Vince had a special treat in store for him on that evening's flagship. This turned out to be a dumb comedy segment that showed McMahon in scrubs ("Dr. Heiney" was present) as he pulled various things out of Jim's butt. One of those items just so happened to be JR's own head. Get it?
Watching from bed and in a lot of pain, JR didn't find any of this funny. Meanwhile, as he told in one of his autobiographies, the beloved commentator had to sit and suffer through Vince claiming that he was only being jocular and looking on the bright side of life. Apparently, McMahon thought that publicly humiliating one of his employees and using airtime on his biggest weekly show was the place to do that.
This was serious business. Jim could've died of cancer, and his surgery could've gone wrong. It didn't, thank God, but his boss didn't give a thought to any of that. No, he thought it best to kick someone when they were already down, and poke fun at their misfortune live on Monday Night Raw.
As you erm...do.
