Imagine firing up WWE's official website, social media streams or YouTube channel today and being met with segments called "Lunchtime Suicide". That's what happened to many fans when they hopped onto WWE.com in 2006. Admittedly, those are just out of reach for an article dedicated to everything wrong with 2005, but not to worry - the promotion pushed the idea of suicidal thoughts that year too.

At Armageddon '05, Josh Mathews visited former WWE referee Tim White at his 'Friendly Tap' bar. There, he found a depressed Tim behind the counter serving customers. When asked, White admitted he was struggling with depression since getting injured back at Judgment Day 2002 during a Hell In A Cell bout between Triple H and Chris Jericho. He'd also attempted (and failed) to return in 2004, but had to call it quits due to injuries.

This was melancholy enough without what happened next. Almost without warning, White grabbed a shotgun and threatened to end his life on pay-per-view. The cameras went dark, and the insinuation was that Tim had killed himself during the show. WWE went straight to a Cruiserweight Title match between Juventud Guerrera and Kid Kash.

The whole sorry scene was dreadful at the time and it's dreadful now. The fact that someone/anyone thought promoting suicide on pay-per-view was perfectly acceptable is bad enough, but Mathews even delivered several lame jokes that attempted to make Tim White getting depressed and killing himself comedic.

Never mind rubbish excuses like, 'This was a different time'. People were shocked by this back in 2005. Pretty much anyone you spoke to agreed that it was in poor taste.
