7. Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan At WrestleMania 28 Goes 18 Seconds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF_kEtYlfBc It can be argued that Sheamus' 18 second World Title win over Daniel Bryan was the right move because it helped add to the "yes" chants that fans made in support of Bryan. The thinking is that fans were sympathetic towards Bryan because of the loss, so that's why WWE did it. I was there. The crowd was chanting "yes" in the parking lot before the show and in our seats before the show. That chant was starting to become something special. If this match went 15-20 minutes the crowd would have been hot for everything to the point where you would think Bryan was one of the most popular guys on the show even though he was a heel with girlfriend AJ Lee. Maybe that's why WWE kept it short. They didn't turn him face until later in 2012 (with the birth of Team Hell No), after all. We may never know the real reason why it was book or if it was the right call, but I think it was the wrong decision. My feeling is that WWE made a mistake by having such a short match open a WrestleMania because if these two guys had the kind of great match they had at the next PPV, Extreme Rules, we'd be talking about one of the best opening matches in WrestleMania history. Instead, all we remember is the 18 second loss that ruined the chances of having a memorable match. If you want fans to pay $55 or whatever it was then you need to give them the best show possible. WrestleMania 28 was not a bad show. It was above average. However, if this match was longer and better it would have helped the overall event too. The "yes" thing did pick up a lot of steam the next night on Raw. Was it because of the booking of this match or simply because fans were realizing that Daniel Bryan was a special talent? Either way, it would have been nice to see a longer match in this spot.
