10 WrestleMania Results That Made Absolutely No Sense
9. Triple H Defeats Sting (WrestleMania 31)
The last major WCW star to cross over into WWE, Sting debuted for the promotion at Survivor Series 2014, conducting an internet-breaking interference in the Authority vs. The World main event.
He slotted into a programme with Triple H soon after, leading to a gloriously overbooked WrestleMania 31 trainwreck best viewed when intoxicated. This thing was a mess. Crammed with every sports entertainment shortcut in the book, from multiple interferences to weapon spots, it infuriated hordes of fans in the moment, but it's hard not to get a kick out of its sheer bullsh*ttery in 2019.
Regardless, the outcome remains a curio. Triple H defeated Sting in Vince McMahon's last flex on Ted Turner's dead promotion. It was classic "my guys are better than your guys" patter from the WWE Chairman for an audience long past caring, and to make matters worse these cheeky bastards actually had Sting and 'The Game' shake hands after the bell, with the commentators stating that the WCW/WWE rivalry had finally been put to rest.
It was "put to rest" when McMahon bought the company 14 years prior, you daft sods.
