10 Wrestlers Who Should Have Been Megastars By Now – But Aren’t

8. Cesaro

As one of the most talented workers on the roster, it’s no surprise that Cesaro got himself over, first with the hardcore fans and then the casuals shortly after. And not only that but he did so organically. Sure, it wasn’t quite on par with Daniel Bryan and the whole Yes movement shebang, but when those Cesaro Section signs started popping up in arenas across the country it showed that he certainly had the potential to be a major player for the company.

Again, though, one of the very few people he hadn’t seemed to endear himself to was the big cheese himself, Vince McMahon.

McMahon famously said on the Steve Austin podcast that Cesaro lacked certain skills and wasn’t connecting with fans. Which is strange given those Cesaro Section signs, not to mention the amount of times he’s had entire audiences on their feet for a Giant Swing, of all things.

If McMahon hadn’t let that prejudice impact on Cesaro's booking, the Swiss could easily have been world champion right now, which sounds much better than having him team with Sheamus to face the Hardys for the umpteenth time.
